Noise mitigation is a growing challenge in our modern world. Successful noise abatement is always an interplay between concepts of physical acoustics and psychoacoustics. In special environments, new ideas are often required to meet this challenge.

Cervus Consult is Bundeswehr’s leading partner for noise prediction and management in the vicinity of its firing ranges. Not only the high-energy shooting noises are relevant but also the other unavoidable noise sources. The Bundes-Immissionsschutzgesetz (i.e. Federal Immission Control Act) requires an overall noise assessment that takes into account all noise sources. The consideration of the total noise requires innovative procedures in order to meet this requirement.
