Noise Management
We understand noise control to be a challenge of finding a fair compromise between those who cannot avoid to make noise while running their business and those who cannot avoid to listen and being annoyed. Fair in this context means objective to some extend, but objective does not mean measurable.
Hence, noise control means more then sound reduction. Noise control needs to predict the sound, but it also needs to consider the circumstances and the particular situation. Noise management needs to collect and record the necessary input data and document the results of assessment and control to set up a fair compromise.
Cervus Consult therefore has three major topics
We are involved in the national and international standardisation process because we think that technical standards and guidelines are as important as scientific and technical publications to enhance the concepts of sound prediction and noise control.
We are the experts who set up the complex noise management on the training facilities for large weapons of the German Bundeswehr. Still as contractor of the German Ministry Of Defense, we are about to improve the sound prediction model, to enhance the management process, to extend the tools of managing all input data and to optimise the user friendly front end program (WinLarm) supporting the operator to run his installation according to the rules of shooting noise management.
The next step will be to establish a similar scheme of noise management to the small arms ranges.
